Love Your Wife Like Your Own Body (Ephesians 5:28-29)

Sunday, May 18th, 2014

After some deep discussion, God breaks it down very simple for the husbands. Love and care for your wife like you do your own body. She is part of you.

28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

We take a first look at Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

Monday, March 10th, 2014

What does the idea of submission mean? How does it relate to the rest of our relationships in life?

How is a wife to submit to her husband, and on what basis? What if a husband is going the wrong way, or doesn’t measure up to what his wife thinks he should be?

This study answers these questions direct from God’s Word.

God Explains Marriage, Part 2 (Ephesians 5:22-24)

Wednesday, March 5th, 2014

We start to look more closely at the specific commands in Ephesians 5-22-33. Since the passage begins with the wives, we do the same.

First we look at the statement in v.21 which says “submitting to one another,” and how the six individual roles are commanded to carry that concept out as it relates to their specific relationships.

Second we examine why the wives are commanded before the husbands. We discover that this pattern is not limited to the wives. A very interesting observation surfaces.
