Moses makes his first visit to Pharaoh. It goes as God promises, but not as Moses expects. And Pharaoh makes it very bad for the people of Israel. They complain to Moses, and Moses complains to God.

God continues to answer Moses’ objections. God has chosen Moses to lead the children of Israel out of bondage in Egypt. Moses continues to throw out reasons why he think God is making a mistake. God doesn’t take “no” for an answer.

God lets Moses learn to shepherd for FORTY YEARS. Then God stops by and gets Moses’ attention by means of a burning bush. God tells Moses, who at one time was eager to lead, that Moses was to lead Israel out of Egypt. Moses has other thoughts, and thinks God should find someone else.

The book of 2 Timothy was written to Timothy, a man who was saved through Paul’s ministry, and one who had served with Paul for many years. In Chapter 1, Paul writes to encourage Timothy, who seemed to be struggling with being fearful.

In Chapter 2, Paul now calls for Timothy to “man up,” “step up to the plate,” and be the leader God wants Timothy to be by giving Timothy 10 commands (actually 11, but I combine 2). Though written to a pastor of a church, these principles apply to all believers in amazing ways. This session looks at the first 5 imperatives (commands).
