Christmas from GOD’S Point of View

It is worth observing that God emphasizes elements of Jesus’ coming that we often do not during this season. God also does not emphasize many things that we do emphasize. In this passage, Philippians 2:1-11, we see that God highlights Jesus’ humble sacrifice, death, and ultimate exaltation and mandate of worship, not his infancy. Regarding Jesus’ coming at “Christmas,” what do you emphasize?

The Heavenly Christmas Account (Philippians 2:1-11)

Continuing to depart from the typical “Christmas passages,” we take a look at Philippians 2:1-11. This passage records the coming of the Lord Jesus, not in terms of shepherds, angels, and a manger, but from the standpoint of His stepping down from His privileges as God the Son. He sets aside His glory, humbles Himself, and takes on the form of a man, ultimately dying a horrible death for the sin of mankind. And all of this applies to US!
