Joseph brings his sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, to be blessed by Jacob. Jacob blesses them, but purposefully blesses the younger son over the older son. He also adopts the sons as his own, effectively giving Joseph the double portion due his older brother Reuben.

Even though it is one book out of 66 books in the Bible, Genesis covers 1/3 of history. From creation (Genesis 1) to Noah (Genesis to Babel (Genesis 11)  to Abraham (Genesis 12), about 2000 years pass. From Abraham to the end of Genesis (Genesis 12 – 50), about 350 years pass.

We are about to begin the study of the life of Joseph, beginning at Genesis 37. In this lesson, we do a brief review of the 2000+ years that we have covered up  to this point.
