Jesus Is Presented as Messiah King (Luke 19:29-40)

An event which in our day is called “Palm Sunday,” Jesus instructs a couple of His followers to do something rather strange: “Gotoo a village and get a colt that is tied up there.” In a fairly brief account, the details given are clear. Jesus presents Himself as the Messiah, the One promised of God throughout the Old Testament. How do Jesus’ followers react? How do religious leaders react? We find the answer to both questions. We also find seven lessons we ourselves can learn from this account. Have YOU acknowledged Jesus as the One God promised?
