Our Future Resurrection Changes Our Now (1 Corinthians 15:50-58)

Sunday, April 27th, 2014

The resurrection changes our lives, our outlooks, our focuses. Life is completely different because of our future. Our study ends with the 3 commands in the passage: Be careful, be alert, and be holy.

Timeline of Truth: God Gives 10 Commands – A First Look (Exodus 20:1-26)

Monday, April 21st, 2014

We take this class period to make observations about and briefly cover what is known as the 10 Commandments.

The Resurrection Makes All the Difference (1 Cor 15:1-34)

Monday, April 21st, 2014

Believe it or reject it: Jesus rose from the dead or He did not. If He did not, then party hardy, because there is nothing after this life. However, if He DID rise again (and there’s no evidence to the contrary), then that changes EVERYTHING: Everyone will be judged. Your only hope is Jesus death and resurrection. If you are a believer, you need to make up your mind and be ALL IN or ALL OUT. You can’t live in a world where you define Jesus as you want. He is the Savior or He is not.

God Explains Marriage, Part 6 (Ephesians 5:25) – Husbands Love Your Wives

Sunday, April 6th, 2014

We take a first look at Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.”

Christians are commanded to love their enemies and to love one another. What then is the need for husbands to love their wives as well?

Also, what is required before husbands can love their wives in a Biblical way?

This is a two-part lesson. We first look at 1 Corinthians 10:1-14 and examine Israel’s benefits and sins and how they relate to believers. Then we conclude with Joshua’s battle with Amalek, and Moses’ raising of his hands.

Saturday, April 5th, 2014

God just accomplished a massive number of miracles in delivering the Israelites. Shortly afterwards, Israel is complaining again.

Finding Comfort in the Resurrection – Reuniting at the Rapture (1 Thes 4:13-18)

Saturday, April 5th, 2014

One of the most comforting passages in all of the Bible for those that believe in Jesus is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18:

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive [and] remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Within this passage, Paul presents, two goals, three groups, two promises, a timeline for Jesus’ return as described here (the rapture), and one command that we are to carry out.

Timeline of Truth: Moses & Israel Sing a Song to the Lord (Exodus 15:1-21)

Saturday, April 5th, 2014

God wipes out Israel’s enemy, Egypt, in a miraculous way. Israel responds in song!

God Explains Marriage, Part 4 (Ephesians 5:22-33) – The Husband to the Wife

Saturday, April 5th, 2014

Four “first observations” about the husband’s responsibility as given to him by God as explained in Ephesians 5. How do the responsibilities of the husband compare to those of the wife? You might just be surprised!
