God Addresses a Woman’s Honor and Her Focus (1 Timothy 5:1-16)

Wednesday, May 16th, 2018

God Addresses a Woman’s Honor and Her Focus (1 Timothy 5:1-16)

Womanhood is something very special to God. 1 Timothy 5:1-16 could be said to the “Proverbs 31” of the New Testament. God gives instructions on how women are to be honored as mothers. He gives almost rapid-fire commands on caring for aged women, both who have family and those who do not. Some are to be taken “into the number” as supported staff by the church. Paul gives a list of qualifiers that a woman is to meet which includes age and activity. Those too young are to marry, bear children, and manage the home. God’s most eternal plans for a woman center around her home-based ministry.
