We continue to look at what God records in His Word about Judas Iscariot. In this study, we review the timeline of betrayal, showing the real character of Judas (a thief and a devil) and his collaborators (the religious leaders). We also highlight the fact that Judas was directly influenced by Satan himself. What questions should we ask ourselves from these truths, and how can we know we are not like him?

If all Scripture is inspired and profitable (and it is, 2 Tim 3:16), there are even things we can learn from the life of Judas Iscariot. God records details about Judas that require us to ask questions and search for Biblical answers to those questions. What truths can we learn studying Judas Iscariot?

Judges 18 continues the story of the Levite and Micah. This situation illustrates how, once you make sinful choices, it becomes easier and easier to continue to disobey. We also find out the identity of the mysterious Levite: Jonathan, the grandson of Moses. Spirituality is not inherited. It must be taught, and embraced. We are taught in this lesson that we must be diligent and committed to doing what is right. It is too easy to abandon the things of God and to do what is right in our own eyes.

The mindset of the children of Israel during the time of the Judges was “everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Though the story of Micah and a certain Levite we see the dangers of ignoring God’s word and choosing to live by one’s own “wisdom.” We need to learn that God’s ways are the way a Christian ought to live and ignoring His instructions only bring trouble and confusion.

Timeline of Truth: The Six Minor Judges (Judges 3:31; 10:1-5; 12:8-15) Most have heard of Gideon, Samson, Barak, and Jepthah. Some have heard of Othniel and Ehud. Most have never heard of Shamgar, Tola, Jair, Ibzan, Elon, and Abdon, the six minor judges reported in the Book of Judges in just 14 verses. What can we learn from these “hardly mentioned” rescuers?

Timeline of Truth: God Deals with Disobedience (Joshua 7:1-26)
God takes sin very seriously. When Israel disobeys God’s command, the consequences are severe. Joshua leads the people to make thing right and to sanctify themselves before God. As His children, we need to understand how serious sin is and we need to forsake it and obey God.
