Lord of My MIND

God Wants ALL of ME:  My MIND (Romans 12:2)

God saves us to make us completely new. True Christianity involves giving God our body as a living sacrifice (the first lesson in this series) and allowing God to renew our MIND as well. God is to be the Lord of our thoughts as well as our bodies. He desires to prevent us from being programmed by the world, and instead to fill our minds with what is good, acceptable, and perfect. That is God’s will for us. (This is the second of a four-part series on Romans 12.)

Timeline of Truth: Joshua Makes a Treaty with the Gibeonites (Joshua 9:1-27)
Israel is approached with an offer of a treaty, but all is not what it seems.  Joshua has the opportunity to ask the Lord what they should do, but he did not.  A rash decision by Israel’s leaders led to the people not being able to do what God commanded.  God wants us to seek out His will through His word, that we may make the right decisions.

Timeline of Truth: God Promises to Be With Joshua (Joshua 1:1-9)

Thursday, February 1st, 2018

Joshua is now in charge of leading Israel.  God gives him a special message, commanding him to be strong and to be of good courage.  He is to remember and meditate on God’s word, and through his obedience to the law, God promises him good success.  It is a lesson for us that we cannot be successful in the Christian life without knowing and leaning on the Bible.

1 Samuel 16:1-13 – God’s Eyes Versus Men’s Eyes: How God Sees Things Differently Than We Do

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

We examine the selection of David as king and learn much about our deceitful, wicked hearts and how God sees things so differently than we do or can. We look at how this truth is seen throughout all of Scripture, and how we must rest upon God’s truths rather than our own hearts if we are to walk in the light.
