EXPERIMENTAL SUNDAY TIME CHANGE BEGINNING JULY 1 (posted 6/12/2007)
We thank everyone for the schedule-change suggestions. We have "landed" on the following plan as our best "first shot" at a new schedule. We will try this beginning July 1st. If it works (we think it will), we will stay on this course. If not, we will make changes based upon our evaluation.
Thank you for your flexibility as we seek to arrange our schedule to meet our responsibility to disciple inside and outside of our walls, and to train leaders to further the work here and abroad.
Times Beginning July 1:
- 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM - Morning Worship and Challenge - Trying something new, we will begin with our morning worship. This will put the primary service in the most prominent place.
- 11:10 AM - 12:00 PM - Age-Focused Discipleship - This is our normal, age-grouped Sunday school time.
Potential Benefits of this Schedule:
- This arranges the service times so that the younger children may sit in the worship service when they are the most rested, followed by a more active time in Sunday school.
- The morning service may provide a "spiritual priming," making for a more profitable time in Sunday school.
- This schedule will require us to be more scheduled, purposeful and regimented in our morning worship and Sunday school times, and thus making the best use of time.
Other Information:
- We will begin our Colossians series Sunday, July 1.
- JumpStart will continue through June. Please make this a priority as we finish our 1 Timothy 2 study.
